Lao Cai Province authorities are preparing for this year’s Culture and Tourism Week to be held in Sa Pa from April 30 to May 3.
A wide range of events are scheduled for the week, including the “Love Market” in Sa Pa town and “Cloud Festival” on Ham Rong Mountain that will spotlight traditional ethnic minority cultures.
There will also be a photography exhibition titled Sa Pa – The Land and Its People, a musical programme, and a cookery fair.

Mount Fansipan has jumped up 12 places to 13th out of 77 candidates in online voting for the world’s seven natural wonders launched by NewOpen World.
Lao Cai Province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism attributed it to a campaign launched in early October. (more…)

The Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups will open in 2010, coinciding with the 1,000th anniversary of the nation’s capital, Thang Long-Ha Noi.
The 1,500ha village will come up on the south of Dong Mo-Ngai Son Lake, some 40km from Ha Noi. (more…)
