Sa Pa prepares for Culture and Tourism Week

Lao Cai Province authorities are preparing for this year’s Culture and Tourism Week to be held in Sa Pa from April 30 to May 3.

A wide range of events are scheduled for the week, including the “Love Market” in Sa Pa town and “Cloud Festival” on Ham Rong Mountain that will spotlight traditional ethnic minority cultures.

There will also be a photography exhibition titled Sa Pa – The Land and Its People, a musical programme, and a cookery fair.

Fansipan climbs list of wonders

Mount Fansipan has jumped up 12 places to 13th out of 77 candidates in online voting for the world’s seven natural wonders launched by NewOpen World.

Lao Cai Province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism attributed it to a campaign launched in early October. (more…)

Canada festival hits Ha Noi

Tourism village to open in 2010

The Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups will open in 2010, coinciding with the 1,000th anniversary of the nation’s capital, Thang Long-Ha Noi.

The 1,500ha village will come up on the south of Dong Mo-Ngai Son Lake, some 40km from Ha Noi. (more…)

Spanish food in HCM City

Legend Hotel Sai Gon will host a Spanish food promotion from November 1 to 15, with a buffet featuring a range of specialties like paella, tapas, fabada, ensaladas, gazpacho, and crema quemada-Spanish creame brulee.

Spain is the second largest country in Western Europe and its cuisine consists of a great variety of dishes that reflect the differences in geography, culture, and climate. This coastal country is heavily influenced by seafood.

Novotel group opens new hotel in Nha Trang

The Accor group’s Novotel Nha Trang, located at 50 Tran Phu Boulevard, is ready to welcome guests for the forthcoming Christmas, New Year and Tet holidays when it opens in mid-November. The hotel has 154 well-equipped rooms with balconies offering panoramic views of Nha Trang Beach, leisure facilities like Vous Spa, fitness centre, the Square Restaurant, and a meeting room for 200 people. It also has separate facilities for children.
